So this is the bit where you get to know me a little which might help while I am getting to know you.
I was born in Hamilton which is a town in South Lanarkshire and from there moved up the road to the Roundabout City of East Kilbride, about 10 miles up the road! I have always loved photography but everything really started for me after the birth of my eldest son where new camera equipment was purchased to take shots of this little bundle. It was great then because he couldn't complain about the copious amounts of photographs like he does now! Friends and family seen the shots, booked me in and then by word of mouth, requests came in for more photographs of kids, I loved it. Then one day a couple approached me asking if I would do their wedding. Just a small affair with 4 people at Park Circus in Glasgow. That was the spark of a new passion for weddings which has taken me all over the country including requests for trips abroad.
When I am not busy with weddings I love capturing landscapes and spontaneously grab the gear and run out at all times of the day or night because I have an idea for an image or heard that theres a very slim chance of seeing the Northern Lights or a catching a sunrise or set. Or, an early in the morning shot outside a holiday let in Lochcarron where I am lying around a beach grabbing an early morning mist shot in my PJs much to the amusement of the neighbours! I think it was worth it though!
One such trips with the kids on tow enabled the youngest to capture a shooting star! Not Jealous ... honest!
Outwith photography I am a bit of a geek and love gadgets - any new gadget well I am looking for it! Nights "Out Out" are just the best as are theme parks and roller coasters (but not after a night out out) and concerts and all the buzz that comes with them.
Lastly, I love my family and friends who are there for my ups and downs and my mad "Oh Lets Do This" moments and the silliness they have to endure from all of us. Being recently remarried myself, I understand how stressful wedding planning can be and how we have looked for help from all the suppliers we have came across. I have also enjoyed hearing their stories on how they got into this crazy wedding world.
Being remarried has led me to my new name too, so with a bit of rebranding Jiggery Pokery, Hampson-Clark Photography has been born from what was Donna Hall Photography. Same great service just a different name.
Thank you for reading this far, please do get in touch if you want to chat about your day, discuss your plans or even look for ideas at the venue on a visit. It would be great to hear from you
